:)

Why not meanwhile read articles and books about the subject? The worst that could happen is that you learn something, and could ask questions more of interest for other people than just "What is this?".

An example: If you read Mike Wise's illustrated guide to the understanding of
the Apistogramma species-groups: A DESCRIPTION OF APISTOGRAMMA SPECIES-GROUPS you could find out that the fishes (females) of the Apistogramma-macmasteri-group usually don't show any black blotch at the incertion of the pectoral fins, like the fish in your last photos show.
According to this article, only females of species classified in the Apistogramma-alacrina-group show a pectoral blotch like on your fishes.... and that makes it quite unlikely that your females actually are Apistogramma macmasteri females.

I wish you good luck finding the "right" females!

possible idea as a A. "rotpunkt", been viewing and viewing pictures of females for days and days, and these seem to match up as far as markings, tough to say about the other one, could possibly be a male. Wont know yet, but the fin shapes sort of coincide with what ive seen online.

Tom C is not the person you should be bad mouthing. He tried to give you advice. Check out www.apisto.sites.no then you will find out who this well respected expert is.
I didn't bad mouth him, his condescending tone is of no use to me. The link was, stated that. The link would have been sufficient, I don't care who anyone is the site is designed for learning and contributing and that smart ass post may have shyed away someone browsing the site. Thanks for your input though.

My daily language is not English, and I therefore put in a "smily :)" in my post, in case my attempt to be funny failed/was misunderstood. I wanted to help.
I never meant to offend anyone, and I'm sorry and sincerely apologize if so has happened.

Then that was my fault for taking it in a way that it wasn't meant. And I apologize for my comments. My foots definetly in my mouth on this one. I am a newbie and you are right more reading means more learning, I'm gluten for instant gratification and was hoping to get that by continuously posting here.
