Sorry about all the questions, but I want to supply air to 5 5-gal aquariums and 2 30-gal aquariums, and I was wondering what the best, and most cost-efficient way to do this would be. I don't want to have to buy a separate air pump for each tank. The air will be running sponge filters, am I going to need to supply another air source, like an airstone to oxygenate the water? Could I just buy one large air pump for like a 150-gal tank and split the air flow with two gang-valves?

I truly appreciate all your help,
David

I used to have a small air system made from 1/2 inch pvc and air valves. It was similar to what is used in large fishrooms and stores with a blower. I powered mine with two whisper 900 airpumps. I was able to run 20 airstones in 12"-16" fish tanks. The trick is to make the pvc system a loop. THe whispers were double pump types. I connected each pump (four total) to the pvc loop along the bottom. The pvc loop was connected to the rack.

Wow, complicated.... I have an old Second Nature Whisper 1000 that I recently rebuilt. You don't think I could just buy another large airpump and just use the gang valve idea??
