adding lighting

I just got a new bulb for my tank. My tank is 36 inches long. I currently have my new bulb running farther back but i want to put my old one up front. I am curious of what I can put underneath there that is cheap. I dont want to go buy a new top and pay 30 bucks for it. Are there any solutions that you guys may have?

you could try your local hardware store and see if you could get a piece of plexi-glass cut to size. 8)
