Very impressive the red H. severum, but I´ve to tell I prefer the wild one.

How many SA dwarves were in the show?

Why do you think they´re underrepresented?


I wish I live closer to Atlanta.

Fish shows are hard to predict. There are always a few people who will bring their fish from wherever to show. They are in the hobby of showing fish. THe two most notable right now are Ron Georgione from Ohio, Dan-Yi Jennings from Colorado and Rick Perez from Illinois. Of those three only Rick showed a dwarf cichlid (Apisto sp. I do not know the name of). Dwarfs rarely win the grand proze, so these avid showers stick with larger cichlids.

I was surprized that there were so few dwarf cichlids because Atlanta has several hobbyists who are into them, plus the clubs in Charlotte and Raliegh are active show clubs with dwarf cichlid fans also. The midwest USA is the hot bed for showing fish, however, so I expect a much larger turnout in Cincinati next year. The 2006 Chicago show, which drew attendees from the same area Cincinati will, had at least 25 SA dwarf entries, and at least 18 Pelvicachromis entries... not to mention other westies.
