A wild caught A. sp. Tefe?

I recently read a photo of the following beautiful apisto
from a local vendor,

From the zigzag pattern on the body, I would say that
it looks like an A. sp. Tefe, while its caudal fin looks quite special
to me. Are there any comments on the ID of this fish?
(including its potential origin (wild-caught or tank-bred), and if it
could be a wild-caught, which region in Rio Tefe that we could get this kind of fish?) Thanks much.

It is a beautiful specimen of A. sp. Tefé. I cannot say whether or not it is domestic or wild-caught. Like its close relative - A. agassizii - different color morphs occur in the same locations, probably even in the same spawn.

Thanks Mike... well, just a further question:
Have you observed a wild caught specimen with the caudal fin pattern just
as this one? It looks a bit weird to me as this caudal fin pattern belongs to
some kinds of agassizii...

Yes, your fish's tail looks like many A. sp. Tefé tails. Like A. agassizii, the patten in the caudal fin shows some variation in colors & markings. Your fish looks much like one in the DATZ book (p. 107 bottom). Yours of course is an older more developed specimen.
