My little 1 3/8" long Sajicas are showing all the signs of breeding in a 100 gallon community tank, but with a little twist.
My one male is cheating on his female companion.
For 5 days one of the 2 females has been cleaning gravel out of a flower pot cave as well as this female and the male chasing off any fish that comes near the cave including a pair of Discus (David and Goliath ).
During this time the other smaller female was constantly chased off by both fish as she has been since I got the 3 of them about a month ago.
To my surprise they stopped chasing her away and yesterday she set up house keeping in a second flower pot cave about 14" away from the first cave, This cave is out of sight of the first one, seperated by dense vegetation.
The little male has now started visiting both females.
Should be an interesting time ahead.
