A. piaroa or A. megaptera

Sold to me as Megaptera, I do believe it is a megaptera but pretty new to the apisto game and would like to hear from you all!

It's not megaptera because males of this species have at most the first 6 membranes of the dorsal fin strongly elongated whereas the rest isn't and is almost of equal length (see here). Depending on the catch location and on the size of the black blotch on the caudal peduncle it's either A. piaroa A164 from the Orinoco or A. cf. piaroa A165 from the Rio Negro. That they came as megaptera points towards the former.

A. piaroa is A. sp. "Breitbinden".
A. cf. piaroa (Staeck) is A. sp.cf. "Breitbinden"
and A.cf. piaroa (Rio Negro) is also A. sp. "Breitbinden (Sao Gabriel)"

Also can some one help me with the sex of this one ? I also assume it's a piaroa.

Was imported as agazizi from Colombia but don't know the collection point.

It's a male of one of the A. (cf.) piaroa forms, most likely A. piaroa.

I don't think so. But if you want to be sure show some clear pictures of the fish with all fins spread. What size is it?

I'll do my best to capture a better, clearer pic of it.

Might bot be a female as the other confirmed male, sometimes chases him around and seen do matting behavior.
