I just bought a couple of this little fish. Beautiful color very close in apperance to the picture in the Datz-heft. I'm very happy since this is a rare species around here.

Now, when i home, I read in Römers book that they are of aggresive nature and just "conditionally suitable" for aquarium. Good thing I didn't look in the book before going shopping, because then I wouldn't have dared to buy them.

Anyone else here who have experience of this fish? Are they truly very aggressive? Any other info /hints you have will also be very welcomed.

Regards / Chris

I got some wild caught fish from a hobbyist/collector who went to the Rio Morichal Largo to collect them. I found them to be wonderful fish! They were no more aggressive than other macmasteri-group species & reproduced easily in my aged tap water: pH 6.5; 3º dGH, 1 - 2º dKH. I understand that they breed in harder water, too. This is a rare species because it comes from a location that is not collected commercially. Therefore, almost all A. guttata are domestic bred fish.
