A. cacatuoides Q

Hi guys,

My LFS has some wild cacatuoides in at the momnent. They apparently were caught at a place called Guacamayo in Peru.

Is it normal for cacatuoides to have blue lips?

I have a photo of the largest male, but it doesn't really show the true colouration of his lips.

Hi all,
Smart fish, I think the blue lips make it cacatuoides, "Schwarzkin/Black Chin" has orange lips. The true A. juruensis has blue lips, but that is a SW Brazilian fish.

Cheers Darrel. That's what I was wondering about. I didn't know wild cacatuoides had blue lips. I did know A. juruensis had blue lips, but didn't realise they were a Brazilian species.

Hi all,
I really like the "other" colour morphs of A. cactuoides.
