A. agssiz red tail and A. Cruzi

I have just lost my Agssiz red tail male and now that leaves me with just the female. I'm fixing to get some A. Cruzi from a menber and I'm wondering if the female agssiz will bred with the male A Cuzi? If not I have a female agssi that need mate can some one help? I'll even trade her.

First, A. agassizii & A. cruzi are from different lineages, so it is highly unlikely that they will cross breed.

Second, most of the "A. cruzi" in the hobby are some other species. Most books out there even have the fish mis-identified!

Hi Ranch: Sorry to learn that the male aggie has passed away.
Mike is right that a cross between Cruzi (or other closely related species of it) and aggie are very unlikely and is also NOT a good practice to try.

Anyhow, don't worry, i am sure that you could get another red-tail aggie male quite easily as this species is so popular in the market and every apisto breeder can breed it without any effort (if you're in HK, you could easily find hundreds of it...

Thanks ya'll I hadn't planed on cross breeding them. I don't beleave in that. I just had this lone female in a tank that I was going to put the Cruzi's in. If there was any changes of them breeding I was going to have to find some place to put her til I could send her to mematrix.
I didn't want to send him a prego female with half bred fry coming. LOL I do how every have another question on breeding Orange flash females to male cockatoo F. R.. But I've asked it before and don't want to sound like a ideit LOL wait to late right. LMAO if you can't laungh at your self then who can we laungh at right.
