hey guys, i have 5 apistogrammas left, they are young guys, about a inch long, just about to reach adulthood and about a year old.. their parents died and there is no dominant male in the tank..
how long till these guys show their selves? is there anything i can do to make them come out faster??
Some how they both spawned, not in the same tank but one in the breeder tank and one in the community, there was no chance the batch would of survived in the community tank so i took the eggs along with the mother and put it into the breeder tank so now i have got 2 separate mothers guarding 2...
so i bought this fish thinking it was a male dwarf cockatoo but doesnt seem like it at all, i thought it would color up more but it never did and it was labeled a dwarf cockatoo..
also i have a bunch of female dwarf cockatoos that i raised from a batch of frys about a year old now. finaly one...
there is only 15 tiny fry just started free swimming, i have a 10 gallon that has a good amount of plants in it about half full..
could there be enough micro organism foods in there for the frys? i dont want to buy micro worms again, i mean like its only 15 fry and chances are they probably...

Picked up 5 of these little suckers, pretty sure right now i have 2 female and 3 males if i am right at sexing them, they were labeled dwarf banded cichlids but i am wondering which one??
he wont take any flakes or pellets/dry foods... only frozen... i only had him for 2-3 days and is still young, about a bit over an inch long.. i would feed these small pellets and flakes, the male will taste it but then just spits it out!!! i dont want to always feed him frozens everyday, kind...
there is a tiny white thingy sticking out of the anus... is this normal or is this calamanus worms.... i already tried to dose levamisole twice but its still there.... its very very tiny...there are 3 females that have it...
Well i am going to have a crap load of apisto frys, i got 13 already at 1 cm long and another batch of about 50 eggs.. Would they live hapily together if they were raised together? i mean they are family.. would be so cool to keep 50 apistos in 1 tank.. well maybe not that much but 30 in my 46...
so i noticed one of my fish was turning lighter in color, skinnier, and looking kind of ill, i put her into another tank which was empty and after a while a worm is coming out of her bumhole. half of the worm looking thing if clear and the other half is whitish... it looks to be a dead worm...
what is the best way to do a water change without harming the newly hathed frys?
i've got 10 gallon bare bottom tank with a sponge filter in it with some floating plants... so far i was thinking about just doing a 10 %water change every 4 days with very little feeding since the frys are so...
