    Help: Camallanus Worms?

Ok got the levamisole in the tanks! I've already noticed that the worms protruding from the fish have stopped retracting when the fish move. Now I just hope they can pass them! I fed them bloodworms and they gobbled them up, so hopefully they'll start to feel better and not die.

    Help: Camallanus Worms?

Checked the USPS Tracking site and my Levamisole should be here today. I lost the male that was paired with the female that died.

PLEASE HELP! Gold Ram, extremely fast breathing.

Have you tested your water lately? Maybe an ammonia spike? Your rams would be more sensitive to that than your angels.

Very nice, thanks Ted. I had no idea there were so many variants.

Collecting in Angamos, Río Yavari / Río Galvez 2010

Very cool, I don't keep apisto's but I really enjoyed all the photos and narrative of your trip. How was that chicken soup?

    Help: Camallanus Worms?

One of the females died overnight. Her partner doesn't look too hot today either. Should have the levamisole tomorrow or Saturday at the latest. I think I'm going to lose one of the three pairs for sure. The other two pairs are showing worms but seem to be eating well still.

    Help: Camallanus Worms?

Well, I'll be surprised if one of my females makes it through the next day. She's not looking so hot, sitting on the bottom of the tank real listless out in the open. I really hope I get this stuff under control.

    Help: Camallanus Worms?

I ended up ordering it from Charles at inkmkr.com, I liked the idea of premeasured doses and I was able to email with him directly. Should ship out tomorrow priority mail.

    Help: Camallanus Worms?

I was able to get some panacur from a friend. I'd still like to order some levisol, but hopefully panacur mixed with bloodworms will buy me some time.

    Help: Camallanus Worms?

Working on trying to find some of this stuff locally. Unfortunately we just got hammered with that blizzard and only emergency vehicles are allowed out right now. Nothing is open anyhow. I've emailed a few friends and my cousin is a veterinarian so hopefully someone will be able to get me...

    Help: Camallanus Worms?

I think my taeniatus may have contracted Camallanus worms. Little red hairlike things coming from the anus and slightly sunken bellies. I've just read that Panacur dewormer powdered form can be used mixed with frozen bloodworms to help this. Has anyone had any experience with this before?

    P. taeniatus Moliwe video

Hey Ted, this line didn't make sense to me in your blog: "The trick is to provide enough space, and enough other fish, so the pair will single a fish out and kill it." Is that supposed to be "won't" single a fish out and kill it? :)

I could take a photo of it from the book, but I don't want to cause copyright troubles.

My new 40g Long Tank - P. Taeniatus

Well, I had some bristlenose plecos in the tank before I moved the taeniatus into the new tank, and they nibbled on my swords a lot. Guess I didn't have enough algae or wafers. Also I just sold 1 pair of my taeniatus about 20 minutes ago. 1 pair to go.

My new 40g Long Tank - P. Taeniatus

Well, I removed my second pair from the setup today. My dominant male chased the other male whenever the lights were on, pretty much non stop for the last 36 hours. I'm hoping to sell one pair of my three pairs today to someone local. Going to have to figure something out for the other pair...

My new 40g Long Tank - P. Taeniatus

No problem, they are P. taeniatus "lokundje" My males have some pretty nice looking reddish magenta coloring on their fins when they are challenging each other, it really doesn't show in the photos I posted.

    African Dwarf Humphead ?

A fish book I have lists a fish African Dwarf Humphead and lists its name as: Steatocranus cf. ubanguiensis, but I can't seem to find any information online about this fish and whenever I search something with "Humphead" in it I just get a bunch of information about Frontosa's. Anyone have...

My new 40g Long Tank - P. Taeniatus

Well, I got my new tank setup last night, only took about 6 hours of non stop work combining 29g tanks and plants etc. Anyhow, here's the final result. Here are a few shots of the happy and harassed inhabitants. You can probably tell who the dominant male is of the two pairs in the tank.
