Me too! I couldn't have done it without my dad. I brought him the design and we got the supplies and he kind of guided me but let me do most of the work. I'm really proud of it. :) It should hold, the support of the structure is 10 2x4's. I could probably double stack 2 55's on top of it. :)
Welcome to the forum! I'm in Northern Indiana, and come spring I might have some P. Taeniatus fry to trade for some N. Parilus fry. :) Glad to see you joined up.
Yeah they've settled in really well. I've actually added more wood and plants to it I need to update the photo. The male has been excavating sand out from under everything constantly. He buried like four of the swordplant leaves in sand, I have to keep cleaning them off so they don't die. :)
Well, I've developed a strain of airborne guppies that take care of that for me. I usually have about 50 or 60 flying around me at all times during mosquito season. They do the job.
Setting up a 40 Gallon Long next week, going to be fairly heavily planted with low light plants. I have a 5 gallon bucket full of floramax, and I was thinking of mixing it with sand. Should I mix or just use one or the other? If I only do one I'll probably just go sand. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the info I was able to contact him. He's got them for $60.00 shipped. Good deal, and he's in the same state as me so when I order I'll get it much faster than ordering it from the UK. Thanks again!
Welcome here. I should have told you about this place before, never even crossed my mind. Glad to see you found it too though. Lots of great information here.
I've been practicing a little with the camera, trying to refine my fish photo taking. :)
