    Apistogramma borelli "opal" males issues

I thought the term “sneaker male” was about a male fish hiding in plain sight in order to sneak in and fertilise female’s eggs without the large male noticing.

    I.d. Help

Steel blue apistos have been around a very long time in the hobby, 30 plus years. Are they a species or a hybrid?

Any suggestions for a tap water fish for a 10 gallon?

A group of the little clown killifish would be great. Fry can appear and survive if you have some floating plants.

    Good single male tank setup?

Kind of true I suppose as things sold in the UK are generally in litres (note the correct spelling ;) ). We still only think about car fuel economy in miles per gallon though. Thanks for the dimensions. I would say a 60 cm long tank is adequate for any single apisto I've ever kept.

    Good single male tank setup?

What are the dimensions of a 10 "gallon"? Also worth noting that a US gallon is 3.8 litres, an imperial (uk) gallon is 4.5 litres.

    Favorite Apistogramma

Of the Apistos I have kept in the past, I would say that nijsseni, panduro and steindachneri were my favourites.

    Best Cave/Hut for Apistogramma?

Little terracotta flower pots and saucers work well. Just break a little notch out of the rim and invert.

    Trifasciata but what type

If there is such a thing, is that not just a "standard" trifasciata? Lovely fish he is too.

    2 I.Ds Please

Peter, How many specimens have you posted pictures of? It looks to me that you have posted pics of more than one species. The male with the clear zig-zag markings below the lateral line looks what I thought was juruensis. The fish in the last pic looks a totally different species to me.

    A.trifasciata

A.trifasciata is the first apisto I successfully bred about 15 years ago. I have not seen these of any quality for a long time. Your specimen is a beauty.

    My Apistogrammas

Gee, my head is in a spin, so many pics, so many apistos. Some really nice fish you have there. I especially like the pulchra and the abacaxis. What part of the world are you in?

    Nijesseni V Panduro

Those are nice panduros. The main difference for me in the females is that nijsseni females always show a black spot at the start of the tail, panduro females do not have this. The big blotch is the middle of the body show in the pic above of nijsseni can often be completely missing, I...
