Can anyone ID this plant for me? I've been keeping it in my apisto tanks for at least 20 years and have never known what it is. It grows slowly but can get very tall. Older plants will reach from the substrate to the surface. It's common for plants to grow with their leaves above the water. I've...
I've had good luck using salt to control hydra. They die off at low enough salt levels that it won't harm the fish or plants. Start with 1/4 tsp per gallon and add more daily until the hydra vanish then just do regular water changes which will slowly remove the salt.
That fits with what I've been thinking.
It would be nice if we could trust that fish that are sold with a collection site attached were actually from that local. I don't worry about the fish from the collectors but once they are widespread in the hobby or develop a name within the hobby I...

When I try to just run this line in my browser it comes up infected. Is this script serving ads? If so the problem could be in the ads that are being...
Anyone know if there are any good shops for dwarfs in D.C.? Or, serious hobbyists/breeders? I will be there all week next week and might have some free time.
Thanks
It has been said that the British army wore red coats so that, if they were shot, their opponent would not be able to tell that they were bleeding. I guess that explains why the Packers wear yellow pants
Go BEARS!!!
True ortmanni are very rare in the hobby. However, A. steindachneri are very often sold in shops as A. ortmanni. Steindachneri ae great fish as well so give them some serious consideration if that is what they are. There is a little more info here...

It is a tough problem to decide how to pay for a site. In the beginning you can forget about charging anything but as time goes on you develop a valuable resource that many people utilize. At the same time, the increased content and traffic drive up the costs of maintaining the site. None of us...
