Thanks. Yes, they have spawned a few times already. Their color is spectacular when guarding a spawn. Unfortunately, they are also impossible to photograph then.
I keep 3 pairs and loads of odd other dwarfs in a 120x60x40 tank. she's a very good mother, chasing away even adult agassizii male.
he (N. male) is patrolling the whole tank looking more for some other female than enemies.
but they both look great during brood care.
I was able to keep this species in a 5 1/2 before moving them to a 10 (which overheated on me). They were quite at home even in the 5 1/2. Got them to spawn a few times. The parents were awesome with a black mask and a gold body. If I am able to pick some up at the ACA Convention, hopefully I'll get them to spawn again. They weren't very difficult to keep nor spawn. Could be a good beginner dwarf cichlid IME.
