According to Tom's Website he got them 2022 and it seems to have been the first import to Europe.
The same page says they come from eastern Colombia. And that might be the reason. Possibly militia like ELN or FARC interrupting collection and export.

If memory serves, the location was pretty remote, and required a tractor ride of a couple hours to reach. Think the only way your going to get those is taking a trip with Daniel.

Heard something like that, too. In any case, if you want something rare from the region that can be kept in a terrarium or aquarium, he's the one to contact.
Naw; i have enough problems with fishes; last thing i need is to be chasing after froggies running around my house.

TomC was with Daniel when many of the D# fish were collected. If you really want some species it is best to do what Tom does - go there and collect them. If the fish are the only reason for the trip, however, it will be very expensive. When Tom and I went to the Peru/Ecuador/Colombia borders in 2012 to find A. cf. payaminonis (= A. wolli now) and A. sp. Rocafuerte it cost us ~$800, mostly in fuel. At least we found the fish we were looking for. In 2008 we went to Colombia looking for what is now A. megastoma. No luck, but we did see Colombian National Police arrest a group of suspected FARC guerillas.
