I've kept cichlids before (years ago) and am thinking about starting a new tank. I wasn't aware that breeding was such a big thing in the hobby! What in the world do you do with all of the baby fish?

Best thing is to join a local fish club if one exists, or create one if not. Then share offspring with your local fish buddies. Or you can sell them online, but packing and shipping fish can be a chore.

I donate my offspring to clubs where I'm invited to speak. It offsets some of the cost of flying, room & board. The few extras, like I have now, I trade for other fish. Selling is too much of a hassle. It often isn't worth it, considering the cost of raising fry to mature size.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
