Wood problems?

Hey all! If you saw my last post about an apisto then yes I did recently get him and he is doing lovely! I got the Qubiq 60 Pro and have added substrate and a piece of wood and will be adding plants on Saturday. (Since Maidenhead is a 2 hour drive from where I am and my local shops have plants with tons of snails on, which I would rather not have) It has been soaking in the conservatory in boiling water which was changed every few days for nearly 3+ weeks due to it having tons of tannings! When I got the wood it was not in an aquarium so did float but it was spotless. Now i have noticed some little white specs on it after adding it to my new setup (I will add a photo at the end) Some have said on other peoples photos that they are nerite snail eggs but I thought since it seems to have not been in a tank is this possible? No matter what it is, is this still safe for any tropical fish such as an apistogramma.

Biofilms and decomposition on organic material submerged in water is normal. I don't see anything unusual or unexpected on the wood.
