Hi folks,
What do you end up doing with all the Ram's that you end up with after spawning them. I have hundreds and I cant get rid of them.
Thanks
Eric

That's highly unusual. My local shops will take all the M. ramirezi I can breed. They're always asking me to do more. M. altispinosus are less popular.

I've never seen a LFS not take M. ramirezi - unless they are too small & haven't colored up yet. Locally bred Rams are much more likely to live than the imported product.

i have had this thing settled a long time ago. If the lfs doesn't want them, then I attempt bringing them to local aquarium societies and have them donated or swap meets. Swap meets/ society auctions do make you a little money... and in my area, most of the people who attend them and sell things are owners of petshops and specialty aquarium stores and this adds to the range of your possible market to get rid of your fish. If anything you get a little money out of it (don't expect a fortune, but enough to buy filters, new fish, and most important of all... new tanks!). option 2 is to simply donate it to a fish meeting and that helps put the word out at least about your fish and the fact that they're local fish (as Mike stated before). Option 3 is a large predatory fish that will readily take them off your hands... an oscar, green terror (which I have and use), pikes, dovii cichlids... it's cruel, but it also works... well, hope this helps... john
