Just wondering.
I saw a single male in a LFS the other day, just labeled A. Melgar. It was hard to read the label, It was written very sloppy with a sharpie.
He was pretty big though. Probably the biggest one I've seen. He had to be over 4 inches.
Anyway, what is the biggest known apsito? is there one that stands out?

The largest wild caught apisto in scientific collections is a male A. steindachneri that has a standard length of just over 2¼"/6cm SL (not including tail fin). Of course apistos grow larger in aquariums. The largest domestic raised species seems to be the type form of A. geisleri (Curuçamba). Males are reported to consistantly grow to over 4⅛"/10.5 cm TL (including tail).

The species you saw, A. sp. Nanay(Melgar), grows to about the same size.
