I can't say for sure, possibly one of the cruzi-complex fish. It doesn't show many of the diagnostic dark markings needed for an ID. Do you have photos of females or any other information on this fish - like where it came from, what came in with it, etc.?

Sorry Mike, I do not have any females... I raised them from young and all of them turn out to be males. The sources where I got these, do not know what species it belongs to. But the upper tail end of the males ( not all ) do have a lyretail but only the upper part of the tail.

Too bad no females. Both of the first 2 photos show short extensions on both the top & bottom lobes of the caudal. Without photos showing the dark markings better (like a photo in fright pattern) I cannot make a better guess than a member of the cruzi-complex. Only 2 species in the complex usually show some sort of caudal extension: the true A. cruzi (very rare) and A. sp. Nanay (Melgar). Somehow, it doesn't look like either.
