Unexplaned deaths

Over say 6 months i've had a few apistos die very quickly and for no apparent reasons, water params look ok and the victims show no symptoms. a hongsloi died today. Last night when i fed them he looked fine he was eating and nothing looked out of place. Then today he dies, he is laying on the bottom on his side breathing very slowly and stops breathing for a little while then starts up again, colouring is fairly normal. The others have died in a similar fashion and within 24 hours and probably 3 months between deaths so i guess not related. Has anyone experienced this? is this pretty common?

there are not too many documented infectious agents for suden death

mycobacteria maybe , though this is usually through missing the earlier chronic signs
most disease will affect some fish less seriuosly

water parameters, toxins, O2 levels
stray electrical currents
over heating
