A couple of years back, when Toying briought them in for the first time, I got myself a dozen Red Eye and soon they started spawning like clockwork for one year. I passed several groups on to other hobbyists and ketp the breeding group and some of the F1 for myself. Then, in my second year, they didn't do anything for me any more, neither the wild-caught fish nor the F1. I just read Anton's article on Limbochromis robertsi in Cichlid News, where he mntions the same phenomenon with that species -- wild-caught fish spawn for a while and, if you are lucky, you get a spawn from the F1.
I was wondering if anybody else on this forum made the same observations with the Steatocranus Red Eye?
