spot on eye

My Laetacara dorsigera has what appears to be a small blue lump on one of its eyes. It is on the exterior of the eye, but doesn't appear as a cloudiness. I just noticed it today. I was thinking a corneal edema or ulcer after looking up some info. Anyone ever have anything like this and, if so, were you able to treat it successfully? I'm thinking a broad spectrum antibiotic like penicillin or ampicillin. Any other educated suggestions are welcome. TIA.

How does it look now? Is there any cloudiness in the eye or distension? Is the fish affected in any other way? I wouldn't treat with antibiotics until you get a better idea of what is going on.

Neil, it doesn't look as pronounced as it did when I first spotted it. There is not a cloudiness. In fact, it's hard to spot now. I think it's still there, but the light has to catch it just right to really see it. Other than that, he seems to be doing great. I'm wondering if he might have scratched it on something. I think that some kind of trauma is a fairly good bet. Let's hope that's all that it is and that it's on the mend!

Well, it appears the spot has vanished. I did not treat him, but have kept an eye on him. He's really starting to color up too, which is nice to see. I've got him in with a couple of A. gibbiceps right now. However, I just lost the A. hippolytae I had in QT. That sucks.
