I bought a pair of P. taeniatus "Dehane" on the weekend and put them in my 3'x18"x18" planted display tank. Current tank inhabitants are, half a dozen marbled hatchetfish, a dozen otocinclus, four riffle shrimp and now the Dehane.
First question, would be possible to add a seconf pair of Dehane? or possibly any West African dwarf such a pair of Thomasii? Or would I be best letting the pair have the tank to themselves.
I have read that these are a cave spawning species. Does the cave have to be rock cave, or will they spawn under driftwood as well? The pair were busy excavating out under a rock in the LFS when I purchased them.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
