I have a bonded pair of Wallaciia regani "Tapajos" that have been with me for over 6 months. They came as 2+ inch juveniles and are now 4 inch adults. When I first got them, the female had very obvious ocelli on her dorsal fin (2 of them), but I have recently noticed that both of them have translucent red dorsal fins, with just perhaps one very faded remnant of an ocelli (barely even there, can't be sure my eyes aren't playing tricks on me in the dim lighting and tannin stained water). Do the occeli of the females fade as they age, or did she somehow change sex as an adult?
