New to group (Wisconsin, USA)

OK, I am new to the group, but not to the hobby. I have kept freshwater aquariums since 1972, mostly cichlids and catfish (but many other as well). I kept Africans for a long while, but now I am concentrating on South American cichlids.

Cool! I am halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago. Just past the Cheddar curtain. Not a lot of dwarf cichlids in LFSs.

I’m about 45 minutes nw of Milwaukee. But gf has family in Ktown. I’ve asked and asked and asked and the only LFS I’ve had luck with with any kind of positive maybe is In Mke

I’m going to start my shopping at AquaShella Chicago next month

Aquashella sounds neat. While you are there, try to visit a store nearby called Aquarium Adventure (which is a chain, I think). I have seem genuine apistos in their tanks. They also have a good selection of live plants.

Aquatic Unlimited in Milwaukee is worth a visit (Greenfield, maybe?)

I love AU. Actually I have 2 30g longs that I just picked up from there a few weeks ago. I’m in there every few weeks, if not buy anything just a road trip to get out the house. I also like The Fish Factory, in West Allis.
