Hello everyone!
Glad to be a part of this apisto forum.
I am located in India and have been an aquarist since a kid.
I basically lean over south americans cichlids, and I have yet to learn alot about them.
I hope this site and company of all the fish geeks here would provide me with valuable information.
Regards

White type of angelfish are those in your avatar photo? They're beautiful. Are they your fish?
I rarely see wild-type angels with really bold stripes like those anymore.

Hi Gerald!
Thanks, but those angelfish are not mine.
Technically they are not angelfish, but a cousin of the latter.Pterophyllum genus consists of three species, namely scalare, altum and leopoldi. The ones pictured are Pterophyllum Altums. These are restricted only to Rio Atabapo and Rio Inirida in Orinoco drainage basin.Altums are the hardest to keep cichlids, and certainly the majestic and mysterious of all tropical fish.
