melgar and mortental info please.

have just picked up,

4 pair of Apisto. Sp. â€Âmelgar†and 2 female and 4 male Apisto. Sp. “mortentalâ€Â

could any one give me any info on them.

Sorry ir has taken me so long to get to this. I have been preoccupied.
both are very nice species. Your search for information will be aided by the fact that these fish have other associated trade names.
A.sp."Melgar" is also A.sp."Nanay". There is a pick in the Apistogramma.com gallery and info here and on the web. It is falsely associated with A.sp."Papagei" by some.
A.sp."Mortenhaler" is also known as Lyretail Panduro and now has recently been assigned the species name Apistogramma martini. Again pics in the gallery and quite a bit of info can be found by a search with these 2 names.
Melgar is not terribly difficult to breed, but Mortenhaler is, requiring some water manipulation and effort.
