male or female electric blue ram?

I'm new to the forum, trying to learn more about these rams. I'm thinking about potentially finding a mate for my EB. I had assumed the long dorsal spine indicated male, but I wanted to verify. I also hear finding female EBs is a real challenge... would it be a better idea to try to get one or two GB females? (if I can even find those)

The blunt genital papilla and heavy body build make me think it is a female. Females develop extended anterior dorsal spine, like males do, only not as long. The problem with domestic strains is that the diagnostic sex markings are hidden by all of the color.

I am leaning towards just ordering a male/female pair (my LFS said he could order me whichever sex I wanted). Worst case scenario, I end up taking one back to the fish store. I'm still adding plants and what not to the tank.
