Lamprologus congoensis (Rant included -beware)

Nanacara taenia

Well, to make a long story short... the Nanacara anomala and Limia nigrofasciata I ordered from Below Water were "not available" and substituted with some unknown fish. To say the least, I'm neither amused or happy (same thing?).

It turns out the fish in question was Nanacara taenia. Does anyone have any information on this fish? I just received them and and I'd love to know something about it before dumping it in a tank.

PS: Sorry for the rant, I'm just angry that a decision was made for me that I wouldn't have made otherwise.

Hello J,

I've never kept Nanacara taenia; but from what I understand, they are a peaceful, interesting species and are far less common than N. anomala. Best of luck with them!

What does Nanacara have to do with this thread's "Lamprologus congoensis" heading?

I wrote a rant very early in the morning and upon second thought decided to edit it. I was initially told I would be receiving Lamprologus congoensis as a substitute which really had me off my rocker. Even, cool-headed guys like myself, get angry from time to time.

It has come to my attention that some people may have taken my initial posting in the wrong light. So to clarify this issue... my fish were being substituted on a decision made by the person who initiated the order not Oliver (Below Water).
