Infusoria: What's your best methods?

Hi All
What is your prefered method of rearing infusoria? ie What mixture of materials would you suggest for someone to use to create a hopefully lasting batch of infusoria?

Secondly: What is your prefered method(s) for getting the little buggers into the fish tank with the babies?

I have tried lettuce and bannana peel, with no sucess, setting in the window sill.

The easiest way, of course, is to obtain a pure culture from a fellow hobbyist or biological supply house. Otherwise, my favorite method is a couple of split peas and a teaspoon of oatmeal in about 1 liter of water.
