Cool forum!
Name is Eric and I'm interested in putting together a community new-world cichlid tank.
Currently seeding a 50gal from an established 10gal for the last week. The idea is to have the 10gal for quarantine purpose. Everything seems to be going well and I just introduced my bristle nose yesterday which seems to be doing fine. Next up will be my 4 albino cory's in the next day or so and then I'll slowly work my way into an community with a few Apistos, maybe a couple Rams?
I do have questions on setting up this tank and the whole rock vs plant/wood debate. I have some really nice manzanita soaking currently and am a couple weeks away from really fine-tuning the scape using silk plants. Although I do have a few nice rocks in there currently (on black diamond coal slag), they're nothing cave-worthy, and It's my understanding new world ciclids don't need rocks like Africans do. At least I hope this is the case!
Thanks again for having me.
