Doubts if a pair of Apistogramma cacatuoide or other could pair with my betta

i have a 40 breader that is on the work on my 10 gallon i have a betta a few tetras and two otocinclus and plan on buying more, for new tank, and 10 little ghost shrimp for the 40 breader, i was wondering if it would be posible to get them with my betta and not have any problems in the 40 breader.
btw kind of new to the hobbie

Standard domestic betta, like a veiltail or something? Better don't, not going to end well.
