Dark spots on my L. dorsiger

The L. dorsiger which I posted about earlier have developed some dark grey spots on thier fins over the past few days, and I have been unable to find or remember a similar symptom from the reading I've done. It appears to just be a coloration and not a growth.

The tank has had a blue-green algae problem that I'm trying to control through water changes and reduced light. As unlikely as it seems, the only idea I can come up with is that it might be growing on the fish. Is that possible? The wisteria I unsuccessfully tried to grow also created quite a mess but it has been cleaned up. Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate tests all show zero and the pH is 7.2.

The fish themselves are are behaving normally, are colorful and still take food readily. One pair has spawned eggs twice in the three weeks or so that I've had them. The first batch was eaten by a swarm of rummynose tetras, and yesterday's batch was removed to my litte quarantine tank in an effort to save them. I was unprepared for them to try again so soon - if the eggs survive, you might see me in the breeding forum.

Any ideas on what the spots might be, or what measures I should take just in case we can't figure it out?

Thanks,
Jamison

I don't know what that could be, but it doesn't sound like it is much of a problem. It is highly unlikely that it is algae. Just keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse or manifests any other symptoms.

Thanks, Neil. I'm not as concerned now, because the spots are a little less evident since I posted. They do seem to come and go - ie. the spots that were there a couple days ago are not the same ones I observed last night.

I'll keep an eye on it and post a picture if it gets truly worrisome.
