Every book on South American dwarf cichlids - and many general aquarium books - discuss this fish. Try a library if you don't have (or want to buy) a book with the species in it.

well i found it in the fish encyclopedia i have thats by TFH. as for libraries and book stores, mine dont have the best selection for fish books. maybe 5 books at the most. ive googled it and i get mixed results. well i suppose i shall search like ive i never searched before. also, any specific books you recomend? or does it matter?

Personally, I tend to trust information in books more than web sites. Both can have faulty information, but published material is usually written by knowledgeable authors; anyone can (and do) write anything on web pages. Good information on C. punctulatum can be found in the "Innes Book" Exotic Aquarium Fishes, the Baensch Atlas, Cichlid Atlas 1, Linke & Staeck American Cichlids 1: Dwarf Cichlids, ... There are just so many.

I agree with you Mike, but other times there's no chance than to get help from the web... when you just can't get hold of the books you need or when they're just a bit too expensive.

But, either way, if you know what to search for, you can find good web based resources from credible authors, like your self! ;-)
