Cold weather shipping ..

Anyone have experience with ordering fish in this cold wheather around the US? Ive recently bid on a apair of A. cacatuoides and he mentions the use of heat packs but im just curious is this very reliable? The fish would be comming from Dave in Oregon and i know its pretty cold all the way from there to here in SC where its still pretty cool in the 40's. So anyone wanna chime in on the usefulness of these heating packs in cold weather shipping? Thanks.

Heat packs are an absolute must in cold weather! If used correctly, they are quite useful. I wouldn't worry about Daves packing job, he does this week in and week out. I have received fish from him in cold weather myself, and everything was just fine.

Okay, thanks i was just looking for some clarity on the issue. Well it looks like ive been outbid, i might have to up it some more or try and go with the borelli. Anyways thanks again rich.

i just recieved some fish from dave hear in rhode island. they arrived in the middle of a snow storm! all of them arrived in good condition and are doing very well. from my experience dave is very reliable and he seems to pack his fish with tlc. he won't ship if there is a bad weather forcast in oregon but you should try to let him know if you are expecting bad weather where you are. i believe he ships a great deal of fish and it is probably hard to keep track of the weather all over the country. i hope your fish arrive safely!

Will do scott. Im beginning to wonder if the weather ever gets serious here in South Carolina. I just moved here and havent seen a flake of snow. Much, much different then from Wisconsin.

Ah well the price for these cacatuoides just keeps going up .
