I have 2 tanks currently:
1) A heavily planted 60G with a pair of breeding A. sp. "Steel Blue" amongst other things (plecos, angels, etc)
2) A 29G moderately planted with a pair of formerly-breeding A. elizabethae "Super Reds" and some dwarf bristle noses.
I have been having some decent luck at breeding so far, and so was considering expanding my collection / efforts. I have an opportunity to acquire some new species via a local shop that is ordering from Atlantis. I was thinking of trying some wild-caught A. mendezi or A. gibbiceps. Or some of their tank-raised.
My problem, and question, is this - Can either of the wild-caughts be housed in either of the above tanks without worry of inter-breeding? They would eventually be moved to a new tank, but it wouldn't be ready in time for the shipment. I'm mainly thinking the 60G. I know cross-breeding really shouldn't occur "between the complexes" - but I haven't learned enough to know what falls into what complex.
Suggestions?
