Your adult apistos get all of their needed minerals from their food. Fry might get some of their Ca from the water while growing & bone growth is occurring. I have heard of fry that developed bent spines when kept in extremely soft water. Unless you are using pure distilled water, I doubt that you need to worry about adding suppliments. Extra Ca will just harden the water.
