I had a question about stocking my new south American display tank. I am wondering if I would be able to mix black Morpho tetras or poecilocharax Weitzmani with some dwarf cichlids like apistos, dicrossus or biotoecus. the tank I have is short(10") and skinny(12") but very long (5'8") and heavily planted and scraped with lots of wood. I know that black morphos can be territorial but I figure the dwarf cichlids will probably be in charge. I want to put a small group of dicrossus warzeli or foirni as the centerpiece but I know they can be hard to find so I may do biotoecus or a wild apisto. any thoughts or experience would be appreciated, thanks!

I know it works with D. filamentosus, not sure how territorial D. warzeli or D. foirni get.
Biotoecus tend to prefer much less structured environments so if you for example leave one part of the tank rather open and the other half well structured they would barely interact.
With D. filamentosus there was only a little animosity around the main feeding spot, otherwise the Dicrossus also stayed out quite a lot in the open, with the tetras being a lot in the back and the leaf litter.
