Of the six described Benitochromis species, they all grow to nearly 5", except B. ufermanni, which grows to nearly 4". Of the Chromidotilapia species, most grow to about 4"-5", except the giants, C. kingsleyae and C. regani, which grow to about 5.5"-6", and the runt, C. nana, which grows to about 3". The later species, however, is not available in the US hobby.
Due to their smaller size and milder temperments, we can consider these interesting fishes dwarf cichlids.
