Apistogramma trifasciata

From the looks of it my trifasciata now spawned. I wish I had pictures of those but I don't. I am hoping that the eggs are fertile this time as I have had problems with that lately. I changed males even to see if it would help. I have gotten fry out of them before but I am not sure which male spawned with them so I am trying to mix it up. Wish me luck but it was quite nice to come home from a long day to see skinny but bright yellow female.

there certainly are eggs...i can see them through the top of the flowerpot
hope they are fertile though...we will see over the next few days.

Well, instead of "Good luck", I will say congratulations! No I will still say good luck, because they still need to hatch, swim, grow, pair, breed and start the whole thing over again.

So much for my Apistos spawning. Back to the drawing board on this one. I am going to replace the current male with another and see what happens next time. Hopefully I can get viable eggs out of them, otherwise I guess I will turn the males into show fish only and look for new males. In the meantime I did move my sp. tucuri and DR agassizi to a warmer tank. Hopefully these guys will settle down soon and start producing. Again, the reddots about ready for another round of breeding. We will see. At least I do have baby emperor tetras keeping me entertained.
