Hi,

I would say:

Pic 1: sure female
Pic2: both, female (left) and male (right) (...and Dicrossus filamentosus (male) in the back) ;-)
Pics 3,4: I would say it's a male. ..but it's hard to say on 2cm length.

regards,
Rolo

The tail is an easy way to ID the species, but for younger fish check the shape of the spots along the middle of the body. D. filamentosus has rectangular spots that are more elongated horizontally. D. maculatus has more square to slightly vertically oriented rectangular spots.

Did he lived well and long or he die young?
it lived 5 years

I don't know the maximum age of this species, but I think that's a good age and pretty old. So, he lived well!...and usually they don't die on senility, because they are quite sensible. ;)

best regards,
Rolo
