I recently bought a couple at a local pet store that were supposed to be a male/female pair. It turned out, however, that they are two males. Does anyone have a female for sale, or is anyone interested in my males?

Hi Jeff..

That looks like a female to me.. very black ventral/pelvic-fin + very yellow on the body.., maybe you`ve got 2 females or 1 female+ 1 young male( not yet colored up) ??
Can you add some more pictures of "the couple" ???

Yeah, I have these as well and that certainly looks like a female to me. Here's a picture of the male I had before he passed a while back:
