Apistogramma angayuara

Hello,

I'm looking for info on the species Apistogramma angayuara but can't seem to find anyone maintaining/breeding it.
Is this species actually available through importers/hobbyists?
Any interesting websites with photos/breeding reports regarding this species?

A. angayuara has never been commercially imported into the hobby. The only certain photos of this species are those preserved specimens found in the original description, Cichlid Atlas 2, and the DATZ book (as A. sp. Trombetas 1 A145). The photos of live specimens in Cichlid Atlas 2 are NOT A. angayuara. They are photos of a deeper bodied species originally introduced as A. sp. Weißsaum/White-seam. Photos of A. cf. pertensis (Trombetas) A152 (pair, top right) conform to the original description very closely and probably are A. angayuara. Koslowski (2002) writes that there are 2 forms of A. cf. pertensis in the Rio Trombetas: a normal-size form and a smaller-growing form (=A. angayuara?). If anyone really wants this species, I imagine that they would have to try to collect it themselves. One caveat, however, the specimens used for the description were collected over 25 years ago. Since then a dam has been built in the area that has disrupted the known habitat of this species. Of course, it could occur in other locations.
