Without photos of the males in threat display, I cannot say for sure. I personally believe - based on the 3 photos that do not show many diagnostic features - that the fish are young specimens of the Net form of A. agassizii. The white submarginal band is unusually wide for A. gephyra. Check the following thread for features that separate these 2 closely related species: http://www.forum.apistogramma.com/showthread.php?t=3019&highlight=gephyra

I agree with Mike.
This kind of fish is labelled
A. agassizii - either "alenquer" or "santeren" (<-- i may spell them wrong)...
in the Hong Kong fish market. It is NOT wild caught though and
i doubt if its parents are really from one of these two places... anyhow,
it is so wide spread that many people have seen it.

It is difficult to say to which species this fish belongs. The caudal pattern is like A. gephyra. The net-like body pattern and particularly the pattern of the lateral band are like that of A. agassizii (Net form). Both species occur in the lower Rio Negro and this could be a natural cross. Without seeing a preserved fish & checking its abdominal scaling, I would not want to say which species it is.
