Apisto Hongsloi

Morning All,

Picked up a trio 1M and 2F of the hongsloi. Had pleanty of apistos before, but any new info on keeping these happy ?

Hongsloi can be kept in typical Apisto fashion. In my experience the wild fish are much better breeders and parents but the line bred strains are much more colorful. Unfortunately, many private breeders find they cannot achieve the same colors in the offspring as the parents. I have heard that this is beacuse of the cyclops rich diet they recieve from the European commercial breeders that most of us can't match at home. What ever the reason I have found that the ofspring are generally not as colorful as the parents.
