Never heard of a fish like that before, but I remember reading that Altamira is a location close to Rio Xingu, which holds apistogrammas. The species that are found in that river (Rio Xingu) as reported by Mike Wise are as follows: A. taeniata & A. agassizii ; A. sp. Blauspiegel/Blue-spangle, A. sp. Xingu (Xingu Red-lobes), A. sp. Chao . This should at least shorten the list of possibilities it could be. john
