Algodon II fry, can i remove them?

Hello everyone,

I bought a pair of algodon II, to replace the parents of my last batch
who died a couple of weeks ago , and put in a comunity tank with a pair agassizii, two scalares, 10 pencilfish, 8 corydoras and a L75 pleco.
Yesterday i saw the female i one of the coconut shells and she in breeding color. so fry is on the way . But i don't think a lot will survive in this tank. So i was wondering if i could take them out and raise them the artificial way. the first few weeks in a 12 liter tank and after that in a 50 liter tank.

That is definitely an option. You will need to use water from the current tank and antifungaling agent, if they are not hatched yet. Also be careful to get them food quickly and often without polluting the tank, as they will not have the benefit of their parents to lead them to good foraging areas and to help clean up extra BBS, etc. Art. rearing is much more difficult than the parental alternative, but many have successfully raised full spawns this way.

i think i will take them out when they start to swim. or would it be better when i do it before they hatch. and do i need to put an airstone in or not if i take them when they start to swim.
